  • full length high-level platforms
  • upgraded hearing augmentation loops and tactile ground surface indicators
  • upgraded security cameras and lighting
  • new wayfinding and platform signage
  • accessible toilets
  • disability-compliant ticket windows
  • upgraded bicycle storage facility
  • improved seating and extended platform shelters
  • upgraded station office and facilities.

Banyo station reopening in early 2025

Queensland has experienced unseasonable wet weather, and this has impacted construction at Banyo station. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather conditions and the added impact of the complex site geography, Banyo station will now reopen in early 2025.

We are committed to keeping our customers moving and shuttle bus 316 will continue to operate until the station reopens.

As soon as we have a set reopening date for early 2025, we will inform the community.

We thank customers for their patience while we work towards making Banyo station a more modern, accessible station for everyone.

Alternative transport

We are committed to keeping our customers moving and shuttle bus 316 will continue to run to its regular timetable between Northgate and Banyo stations.

The station carpark will remain closed until early-2025, to facilitate future upgrade works.

Bus service information

  • Shuttle bus 316 operates between Northgate and Banyo stations, including stops at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and Earnshaw College.
  • The shuttle runs according to the Shorncliffe line timetable at Northgate station.
  • Existing bus route 306 is also available from Tufnell Road, near Banyo station.
  • All route 316 services are accessible.

Nearby train stations

Bindha and Nudgee stations are the nearest stations to Banyo and will remain open during the upgrade works.

To assist customers, the footpath from Royal Parade to Bindha station is now open.
