Unsafe behaviour
At Queensland Rail, we believe that all safety incidents can be avoided. We therefore actively encourage our customers to embrace some very important safety measures.
Railway Transport Laws help to discourage unsafe behaviour, such as:
- crossing railway tracks other than at a designated crossing
- using crossings while warning signals/booms are operating
- riding vehicles such as bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates and scooters on a bridge or platform, or in a subway, designed for pedestrians
- entering or leaving a railway other than through a proper entrance or exit
- displaying a coloured light on or near a railway
- tampering with Queensland Rail property, such as buildings, or placing objects on the tracks
- failure to comply with safety laws could result in an on-the-spot fine, or in some cases, having to appear in court.
