UPDATE 14/12
Please attribute to Queensland Rail Acting Head of SEQ, Neil Backer:
Queensland Rail crews have worked throughout the night to successfully repair the overhead line fault at Bowen Hills.
However, rail replacement buses will remain in place across the Inner City (Milton to Roma St/Albion) and on the Ferny Grove line until rail services are fully restored.
Plans are being made to reinstate trains and customers may experience delays of up to 30 minutes.
Queensland Rail thanks customers for their patience.
UPDATE 13/12
Please attribute to Queensland Rail Acting Head of SEQ, Neil Backer:
A limited number of services have resumed in both directions through the Inner City, with trains running express through Bowen Hills.
Rail replacement buses continue to operate on the Ferny Grove line.
We encourage customers to plan their journey in advance, as residual delays continue to impact services network wide.
More to come.
PREVIOUS STATEMENT
Please attribute to Queensland Rail Acting Head of SEQ, Neil Backer:
Queensland Rail wishes to advise customers there is a major disruption across the SEQ network due to an overhead powerline issue at Bowen Hills.
Customers can expect delays of more than 60 minutes on all lines with services suspended between South Brisbane, Milton, Doomben, Mitchelton and Eagle Junction.
Rail replacement buses are being run from Bowen Hills, Central and Fortitude Valley stations.
We are working to reinstate services as quickly and safely as possible, however the timeframe is, at this stage, unknown.
Please consider seeking alternative modes of transport, factor in the disruptions or consider travelling outside of peak.
